GOT A QUESTION

Frequently
Asked Questions

We understand that choosing the right physiotherapist is a big decision. To help provide clarity and peace of mind, here are answers to some of the questions we are asked most often.

Happy diverse male physiotherapist advising and senior male patient using exercise band. Physiotherapy, healthcare, wellbeing, and senior lifestyle, unaltered.
01. Is home physiotherapy effective?
Yes, it is as effective as a clinic visit. The modes of therapy used for each client will be similar to the ones used in a clinic setting. Many elderly clients prefer this over clinic visits due to convenience of commute etc. Some even favour this over in clinic visit to be able to rehabilitate in their own home environment. Treating you in a place you call home allows us to tailor your treatment and goals to your actual home environment for effective results.
02. How should I prepare for my home physio visit?
Please allow a time duration of 1 hour for your initial consultation and up to 30 minutes for your subsequent visits. Please wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the area in need of treatment. If possible, please, clear a space of 2x2m for treatment and exercises. If this is a challenge: do not worry- we are all about making physiotherapy accessible to you so we will work with any space, you have.
03. Are home visits more expensive than clinic visits?
Our home visits are competitively priced compared to clinic visits taking into consideration the travel time, fuel and other costs involved for our therapists to reach your doorstep. We accept all types of funding such as chronic disease management plans, private insurance etc just as a clinic would.
04. What are home care packages/ support at home funding?
You may be eligible for a home care package/support at home if you are a senior client. It is a government funded program to help seniors live independently at home. It refers to an amount of money allocated to you based on your needs to access several services including physiotherapy. 05. What is the GLA:D program?
Good life with OA: Denmark is a program which is internationally practiced for effective results in people recently diagnosed with arthritis. It is proven to reduce osteoarthritis pain and improve quality of life. This is for anyone who is experiencing pain and stiffness in the hip or knee with a clinical diagnosis of osteoarthritis who would like to delay surgeries such as joint replacements. It’s a structured program that is run by a trained and certified physiotherapist twice a week over a period of 6-8 weeks. Please contact us for more information on how you can access this program.
